AXLE PRESS WORLD RECORD - Giant's Live 2024 Recap

On July 13th, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to London and attempt to break the axle press world record at the Giants Live Royal Albert Hall, Strongman Classic. I wanted to share a bit of the behind-the-scenes experience with you all. From navigating the Toronto airport to the excitement and challenges of the journey, it was an unforgettable adventure.

Traveling for competitions means meticulous preparation, especially regarding food and training. I always aim to find reliable food sources and stick to my routine as closely as possible, even on the road. It’s crucial to maintain energy levels and avoid the pitfalls of unhealthy airport snacks. The journey to London was filled with anticipation, and I was lucky to meet friends and supporters along the way.

The Royal Albert Hall is an iconic venue, and stepping onto that platform was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. During the warm-ups and the final attempt, I focused on my training and the support of my coach and friends. Although my first attempt at the world record weight didn't succeed, I drew on my training and mental resilience for a second try. The moment I locked out that weight overhead and heard the crowd erupt was indescribable. It was the loudest moment in the venue's 150-year history, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for everyone cheering me on.

Achieving this world record was a humbling experience, and I couldn't have done it without your support. Whether you were there in person, watching from home, or cheering me on via social media, your encouragement means the world to me. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Lift heavy, be kind, and know that your support makes all the difference.
